Programmers and Automatons

Categories: blog

From my previous post, Disappointing and frustrating, I posted about how some people do stuffs, repeated stuffs manually instead of automating it. Stop Being an Automaton and Be a Programmer. And when I try to teach them how stuffs can be done better, they just “pretend to listen” and continue on what they’re doing. They won’t listen to me because I have no authority over them, I’m just there for them to ‘UTILIZE‘ me, when they need it. I had enough of this shit, and requests a change to another team.

So when I joined the new team, they’re using a different language, C#. One of its quirks is, I have to use Visual Studio. Not because its microsoft, but because its too freaking big. Its like a house factory, A FACTORY THAT PRODUCES A HOUSE! I like to keep it simple, using text editor and small editors like Komodo Edit (with features I know that I need). But still I have to learn it to be able to understand what my colleagues are talking about or else I’m stuck being a hermit, knowing PHP and Python that even my previous team doesn’t know much.
