Let’s use this <language>!

I’m getting tired of people advocating tools without any means to an end. Let’s use this and that and this and that, WTH are you using it for? I dunno, anything I guess, because it have this and that!

Why dont these people just target on something like building a web application like delicious but for files! Of course it wont be feasible for public use, unless you have terabytes of storage, something for internal use. My library folder is getting bigger by the minute, and I’m sure dont know how to organize it properly. Well, if I spent to organize it I might actually pull it off. But enough of that.

Build a web app that does something and pick a language and JUST FUCKING DO IT! As the old saying goes:

The journey of a thousand miles

starts from beneath your feet.

I’ve written a draft for Single-sign On, using NTLM and CAS (a research for a friend), but someone already beat me to it (OnLAMP: CAS+: Single Sign-On with Jifty). I havent read it all yet, just skimmed through it.

Other than that, this few days have been frustating, maybe its because of my slowness in building stuff and maybe its just IE giving me a hard time. I have to identify all these buggy things and workaround it. O’ zen masters of web standards, bless me with thou knowledge. But that is for another post.
