Just got back from my hometown. Arrived at my hometown on Saturday at 2.40am.

Arrived home, and quite surprised why the hell my cousin is here. Apparently she did things, that shouldnt be done and ended at my mother’s place sent by her mother. Its a known fact that she’s annoying, any family members know that. But we try not to show it (i dont think she knows that she’s annoying). *Sigh*

The reason i went to kedah because my mother told me the pc couldnt start. It just hangs, didnt go through bios screen. It just hangs there. My first thought was that maybe the people who uses my pc bump into it hard enough to cause the cables to become loose thus causing the error. Upon closer inspection, the CPU Heatsink thing (the metal block attached to the CPU) was filled with dust. I took it apart and brushed the dust away outside. Put it back on.. and BEHOLD! it started. *gasp* *claps hand*

Other than that, i put on my dvd rewriter (benq dw1620), put the cables and turn on the pc. It didnt run. I had to disconnect the power cable from my cdrom to make the pc start. My guess is the dvd rewriter uses more power than my power supply can support. Well.. that’s just a wild guess.

After booting up and login, windows prompt me with Windows File Protection something and wanted a windows2000 cd, to preserve system files or something. I dont think this is such a big deal. I looked for a way to disable the prompt which leads me to a registry tweak, but it didnt work. I kept the html of the registry tweak in my archive’s personal folder. I told my mother what to do in case the prompts appear.

Nothing much was done while i was there. The most work that i had to do was backing up my files. There’s lots of it. Thousands. With bad names for files that doesnt give me a clue what it is. I backed up all of them into dvds. Apparently after i updated my DVD Rewriter’s firmware, it could write up to 8x speed. Double the speed before this.

Oh, my friend came over to ask for my help to look at his pc. The pc couldnt boot properly with Windows ME. What the heck. Windows ME? I’m tired of telling people Windows ME is as bad as a push up pin stuck in your foot. I just play along and tried to troubleshoot it, but to no avail. Went back home, asked for opinions on how to troubleshoot an old pc in a IRC channel. One of them suggested installing XP, its got most of the drivers of days of old already built-in into it. Why didnt i think about that? Because I dont often go around and fix other people’s PCs, THATS WHY! Oh, i havent been installing OSes much because i maintain my home pc carefully. firewalls. vigilant. and stuffs.

At first the home pc was crawled with trojans, spywares, adwares, malwares and tupperwares. Had to run hijackthis, spybot and adware. I educated my pc users at home to use Firefox instead of IE or Opera.

Other than PCs. I stumbled upon two of my seniors (studying days at IPTURA) at Star Parade while my friend and I are eating McD’s Sundae Chocolate Ice Cream. Apparently both of them are working at Maktab Mahmud as pembantu tadbir. We exchange news about others and parted.

Backed up datas, watched 2 episodes of bleach, bought a printer catridge (i use canon i320), and hang around. The catridge I hid it after printing a few pages of essays from paul graham’s site. It would be a waste if she (my cousin) wasted it printing who knows what.

I departed from kedah at 11.45pm (the ticket is 11.30pm) on Jelita Transtour’s double decker bus. hehe. Its nice apart from the stupid female in front of me ( she’s in seat 6A), whom backed her chair so far back it makes me uncomfortable. *sigh*

Arrived at KL at 4.00am. Hang around beside the road till 6am. Took a bus to One Utama (RapidKL 21C) and then took Metrobus 99 straigh to my house.

Uh oh. I missed the way i could automatically identify myself before i go into IRC channels. I forgot what it is that i did. I searched in the script editor to find nothing! Only then did I realized it was in a file called /perform.ini . Needed this in it.

Nope. I havent resigned / quit from my job at HRSC. I’ll have to take sometime to think about it (and start saving in case i wanted to quit so i can support myself). Hehe.

On the other hand, found a nice site listing proxies on the net from various countries. Hula-project is quite a nice project with calendars, mail, and address book. I need to find something to do, a worthwhile project. I’ll need to spend sometime on that too. hehehe.

Oh yeah, I was browsing freshmeat.net and stumbled upon bugzilla2mantis 0.2. Nice, mantis got its own converter from another bug tracking system.

I’ll need to look into eventum a little bit more. Other than that, i cant think of anything else to write at the moment. Sore-ja

I dont think my situation will get better. I need to find greener grounds for me to settle in. I’m rebelling against management, especially against the administrator, whom i hate most.
I dont know if it’ll become better, i dont think it will. So.. its best if i leave the company and let everyone happily do their job. *Sigh*.

This morning I woke up at around 9am, found myself not feeling well, decided not to go to work. Leaving the administrator at the client’s place alone. I have felt this uneasy feeling(not feeling well) before, its best if i stay home and relax then go to work, facing him, and other sorts of crap and become sick.

Anyway, i’ve started to use flash, again. Wanted to try making a comic with penny-arcade drawing style or maybe not. Dont know yet. After finished drawing it, i wanted to convert it into flash and add a little bit of movement AND effects. nice.. nice.. *drool* *cough* *wipes drool*

Other than that.. i still continue reading about programming in Code Complete, 2nd Edition by Steve McConnell. Tons of nice info… and urm.. other books and articles.

Oh.. since i’m going to quit, i’d better compile the things that i’ve done so i got something to show to my future employer. hehe. Sore-ja

I arrived at the office at 11.15am. quite early actually considering i dont go out to lunches and i go home at around 9pm. Yeah. that’s like 10 hours. But the truth is, productivity is actually at 2-3 hours per day max. Unless i’m on programming adrenaline where things just keep rushing non stop through my veins. Spitting codes with my very fingertips! hahahaha! Well.. most of the codes created at that point of time is probably crap, clunky and bloated with infectious maggots.

First thing that i usually do is check web based comic strips, pvponline, penny-arcade, chronicles of garas, dilbert, but today i checked out JoelonSoftware.com after reading his book to the end yesterday. There’s an interesting link to an article about GROUPWARE BAD by Jamie Zawinski. Other than that, i checked out free web calendar hosting. Webcalendar (perl/CGI) 2.9.0, localender (free web calendar hosting) and i bumped into an interesting thing called social web, i wonder if there’s something like that for local m’sians.

I spent quite some time rummaging through all the things that i’ve downloaded at home that i brought with me to KL. There’s a whole bunch of things that i cant categorize. A*, Minimax, and other sorts of stuffs. Too much stuffs. Would take quite some time to sort this out. Hrmm..
